 Chaney Enterprises operates numerous sand and gravel mining sites along the Patuxent River watershed. The Riddle Chaney sand and gravel mining site is located at 4431 Sands Road in southern Anne Arundel County. Application for a special exception was made by Chaney Enterprises to operate a sand and gravel mine and a wash plant on the Riddle Chaney property. Wells + Associates was contracted to provided a traffic impact analysis, accident analysis, transportation planning services, and expert testimony for the special exception. Wells + Associates also provided an updated analysis for the special exception renewal for this site. For both of these applications Wells + Associates provided expert testimony before the Zoning Hearing Examiner in Anne Arundel County. The impact study analyzed the roadway links and intersections, and recommendations were made to improve the site access reducing the impact along Sands Road. Chaney Enterprises’ special exception application was approved by the Anne Arundel County Zoning Hearing Examiner. |
