Shandon Baptist Church is currently in the process of expanding its sanctuary and classroom space to meet the ever-increasing needs of its congregation and community.  The church is located on Forrest Drive in Columbia, South Carolina.  A new 2,500-seat sanctuary will replace the existing 1,100-seat facility.  The current sanctuary would be converted into classroom space. 

The church retained Wells + Associates to evaluate the parking and circulation needs of the congregation, including evaluation of peak parking demands, identification of parking and circulation deficiencies and proposed solutions, and recommendation of traffic circulation and preliminary parking layout configurations.

The forecasted parking demand and vehicular and pedestrian circulation associated with the expanded church would be met, with the parking layout and the recommendations presented in the report.

Working closely with Shandon Baptist Church, Wells + Associates developed parking and traffic operation plans for multiple Sunday services.
