 Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish (OLGC), a catholic church in the Diocese of Arlington, is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, adjacent to the Town of Vienna. The church property includes the church, a school for grades kindergarten through 8th, and a multi-purpose building. OLGC recently completed an expansion project of the church, school, and chapel facilities to meet the the existing needs of the parish.Wells + Associates conducted traffic analyses in support of a special exception application submitted by OLGC to Fairfax County. This included an evaluation of existing school drop-off and pick-up procedures, necessary local road improvements, and turn lane warrants. Currently, Wells + Associates is working with the school to prepare a traffic impact study in support of a pending special exception application for the property. The OLGC School proposes to increase the maximum enrollment to 600 students, add extended day care to their educational program, and lower the age restrictions to include 3 and 4 year olds. |
