Senate Square
Capital Children's Museum Site - Washington, D.C.
Senate Square is located at 220 H Street, N.E., on the block that is bounded by Eye Street on the north, H Street on the south, 3rd Street on the east, and 2nd Street on the west.  The site was formerly occupied by the Capital Children’s Museum, which permanently closed in September 2004.

Senate Square will consist of three condominium buildings with 500 units that will be served by 500 underground parking spaces.  This project currently is under construction and is planned to be completed and occupied by 2007.

Wells + Associates, was retained by Abdo Development to prepare a transportation impact analysis of the proposed development and the surrounding community, in support of the Planned Unit Development (PUD).  Senate Square is one of the first projects planned to revitalize the H Street corridor in northeast Washington, D.C.

Wells + Associates determined that the increased traffic levels due to the approved but un-built projects in the study area and the additional traffic that would be generated by Senate Square could be fully mitigated by modifying the existing signal timings at the 3rd Street / H Street, 2ndStreet / K Street, and 2nd Street / Massachusetts Avenue intersections.
