Federal agency building and transportation needs are as diverse as the federal government itself.

Some buildings, such as the Harry S Truman Building, provide space for the Secretaries of the various federal departments and their staffs.  Others provide office space for agency employees.

Security requirements vary widely. Employees and visitors generally must be screened before entering the building.  This is a particular challenge for buildings that draw large numbers of visitors such as the Library of Congress.

Federal policies encourage agency employees to commute to work by public transportation instead of by privately-owned vehicles.  Accordingly, many federal agencies favor Metro locations when soliciting offers for new building sites.  Constrained parking supplies are common.

Wells + Associates has provided services to federal agencies and to private real estate developers seeking to provide build-to-suit space to federal agencies.
