The Gannett Co., Inc. is a Fortune 500 firm that formerly leased 500,000 square feet of office space at 1100 Wilson Boulevard in downtown Rosslyn, Virginia. The company moved in October, 2002 into an 880,000-square-foot building on a 30-acre site in Tysons Corner. Renowned architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, P.C. designed Gannetts distinctive glass headquarters building.
 
Wells + Associates conducted a transportation assessment to assist the Gannett Co. in making the decision on whether or not (or under what conditions) to purchase the site. This included assessment of current and future peak hour traffic conditions in Tysons Corner, the Gannett Company's specific employee travel needs, employee and visitor parking requirements, site proffers, and identification of road improvements that would ease traffic congestion on the approaches to the new headquarters location.Wells + Associates also conducted peak period travel time surveys and traffic counts.

The Fairfax County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors approved Special Exceptions for the site in November 1994.
