The Bethesda Metro station is the focal point for compact, mixed-use, transit-oriented, sustainable development in Bethesda’s Central Business District. Wells + Associates has played an integral role in the growth of the CBD.
The CBD encompasses approximately 405 acres and 65 blocks around the Bethesda Metro Station; a connected network of major highways, arterials, residential streets, and business district streets; numerous public bus services; and pedestrian and bicycle sidewalks and trails.
Wells + Associates has conducted transportation, parking, pedestrian planning, traffic engineering studies, and Travel Demand Management (TDM) studies for the most significant projects approved in the past 15 years in the Bethesda CBD.

We have prepared numerous Local Area Transportation Reviews (LATR’s) and Policy Area Mobility Reviews (PAMR’s) in accordance with Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) guidelines.
Wells + Associates has participated in numerous public agency staff meetings, Planning Board, and County Council meetings, and testified in front of the Montgomery County Council, Planning Board, and Zoning Hearing Examiner.
